Water-based hydrophobic coatings are not new. The increasing awareness of environmental issues and industrial hygiene – also and especially due to stricter environmental regulations (keyword: reduction of solvents) makes our customers ask again and again for working alternatives for impregnations/hydrophobic coatings. From the very beginning, we have offered a solvent-free hydrophobing spray and were able to achieve a significant improvement in impregnation properties as early as 10 years ago with our modern Coro Hydrophobing Spray HB1. Nevertheless, water-based hydrophobic coatings always had the stigma of delayed penetration into leather surfaces, which prevented their use in individual cases up to now.
Corium has developed a hydrophobing spray that has virtually the same application characteristics as solventborne systems. The modern composition, combined with the high concentration of the active ingredient, make the new spray, which we offer under the name Coro-Hydrophobing HF1, an economically, ecologically and occupationally hygienically advantageous alternative to solvent-based products.
